Commitment to Diversity

Founder Ezra Cornell’s vision for our University is embodied in the statement “I would found an institution where any person can find instruction in any study”. This was the beginning of a continuing commitment to educate students from all walks of life, all income levels, races, religions, and lifestyles. Our CBI training program is committed to the recruitment and retention of under-represented minority, disabled, and disadvantaged students. In support of our training program, the following offices within the University provide individualized counseling and other resources to help our trainees succeed.

Office of Minority Educational Affairs

Student Disability Services

Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS)

The Learning Strategies Center

The following external programs provide further resources to help that promote STEM training and careers for individuals with disabilities:

AccessSTEM Project

Institute for Accessible Science (IAS)

Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD)
